  Took my mazda in for a service and a few new tyres. During the service they called and said I needed a few others things which I gave the go-ahead for. When I picked it up they said my tappet cover on my gasket was leaking and would need to be replaced soon. I booked it into a Mazda dealership who said it was absolutely fine. Called Kmart back who disputed Mazda's claims rudely.

  Won't be back again.Took my car there twice. First time was specifically to get my front brake pads replaced and two new tryes. They said no, the pads don't need doing, but we'll replace the back ones. Ok, they are the experts, fine. Then had to put up with the squeal as the front brake pads wore further down. Then went back for a full service just today. Thought anyone can be wrong once. Got a call in Garden City saying the car needed all this stuff done, (It is my older, just a runaround second car. I do have a much newer one) all of which I was already aware off, but ok, (of which one item was that I need to replace the front brake pads!) but main part was apparently all (as in ALL) the rear bulbs had blown and needing replacing. It'ĺl be $96. Ok, I'm like I've been driving around with no brake lights! Fix em. But leave the other stuff, make a list on the invoice and as long as it is still driveable, I'll repair as and when I can.

  He was really weird, seemed to be offended (or something??) that I couldn't afford to just get all the work done then and there. So I go out to the car and test the blinkers and what things I could being by myself and not able to see when I pressed the brakes. Ok, everything works. Decide to head to Supercheap (very carefully) down the road to get bulbs and do myself. Got on Logan road and I can clearly see my brake lights reflecting off the grill in the truck behind me! Asked a Supercheap guy to come out and check and Yep!! Brake lights working!!! Only one (ONE) of the reversing lights was out. Rang "Bruce" and was not happy that a) they were going to charge me for completely unnecessary work, b) didn't do the work that they THOUGHT actually needed doing, c) was completely WRONG about the work, d) didn't give a flying salamander about sending me out thinking I was in a vehicle that wasn't safe, AND e) gave me real agro (I mean a REAL poker face) about it! Bruce wouldn't even apologise. Just said yeah, he saw me checking the lights in the car park and SAW the brake/rear lights were working when I drove away! WHAT!! Said well that's terrible service and I'll never be going back again. He said he'll pass that on to the owner and manager. Doubt it! PS - Never going back again.

  Go to pick up the car and he (Bruce was his name) goes to pull up the invoice and quotes me just the service fee. I go oh and the brake lights. Nope. They didn't do them. I go why? He goes because I 'refused service', so the mechanic stopped work. I refused things that could wait! I said yes, do the brake lights, of course. So I'm like (this was a rainy day) so I'm supposed to drive home in the rain with no brake lights!? And he goes, well you drove here with no brake lights. I say only because I didn't know! He said, yep the mechanic just didn't want to do it. He said that! "Didn't want to do them". ????
